About.

Recently, the city has come in to the headlines due to the Flint water crisis. In 2014 it was publicly confirmed that significant traces of lead and other chemicals had been found in the community's drinking water, which is responsible for many illnesses and even death amongst Flint residences. Many lawsuits, resignations and criminal indictments have taken place since.

Flint native, Vaughn Davis is the voice of those experiencing and such hardships. Through the mist of all of this, the city continues to press on. His music encapsulates all of the hurt, pain, anger and frustration that are felt. His conscious lyrics take this generation of Hip-Hop to another level. He raises the bar for which expectations are held in the Hip-Hop and conscious community. His lyrics makes him stand out amongst his peers bringing swag to the consciousness that exudes many of his songs. Davis' EP debut, 10.1 Program shows that he is just getting started and has a lot more to say.

Born in Flint, Michigan, a historic city that has forever changed the course of man-kind by a single technological innovation that took off at the turn of the twentieth century—the automobile. The city's prosperity rose to see an empire built around the automobile. Flint became a popular city filled with Southern migrants and European immigrants coming to this Mid-Western town in hopes of finding prosperity or at least having a better way of life.

Towards the close of the twentieth century, many shops closed and went overseas. This left hundreds of thousands of Michiganders out of work. Unfortunately, in the new millennia Flint has seen its heyday of success and many a downward spiraling days of high unemployment rate and an increase in violence has helped forge a decline in the population.
